Pamela Beasant
Originally from Glasgow, Pamela read English at Oxford University, and now lives in Stromness, Orkney. She is a widely published poet, a non-fiction writer, and was the first George Mackay Brown Fellow in 2007. Pamela is currently Director of the annual Orkney Writers’ Course for the St Magnus International Festival. Four plays have been commissioned by and performed at the Festival. Her script A Jar of Light, celebrating the life of Orkney’s viking saint, Magnus, will be premiered in Orkney in 2017. In 2016, Pamela read at the Poetry on the Move Festival, Canberra.
